Arsenal Are In The Running For This Talented Midfielder: One For The Future?

In a recent report, Het Laatste Nieuws claimed that Arsenal are in the running for Club Brugge midfielder Aleksandar Stankovic. It has been mentioned that the Gunners would have to rival Chelsea in the race to land the Serbian talent this summer.

Stankovic’s Impressive Form In Belgian Football

Stankovic has caught the eye with his performances at the centre of Club Brugge’s midfield this season. The Serbian talent has banged in seven goals and earned four assists in 37 appearances for the Belgian club in this campaign so far on all fronts.

The 20-year-old is currently among the best young midfielders in the Jupiler Pro League. Thus, Arsenal would do well to get a deal done for Stankovic this summer.

His current contract with Club Brugge will expire in the summer of 2029. Thus, the Gunners would have to make a convincing offer if they are serious about recruiting him at the end of this season.

Arsenal Are In The Running For Stankovic: Is He A Prospect For The Future?

Stankovic can put in a tireless shift for his team defensively. He can shoot the ball with venom from long range and has got the eye to play some decisive passes in the final third.

The Serbian whikid is a good dribbler with the ball at his feet and can chip in by scoring and creating his fair share of goals from midfield. However, the jury is still out on whether he can cope with the physical side and high intensity of the Premier League if the Gunners manage to snap him up this summer.

Stankovic would undoubtedly enhance the quality of Arsenal head coach Mikel Arteta’s midfield department in the long run. He is already good enough to challenge for a regular first-team place at the Emirates Stadium in the coming years.

At 20, Stankovic has got the potential to be a future star in the Premier League as long as he continues to develop with each season. He is a prospect to watch out for in the long run, so the North London club would be wise to step up their efforts to bring him to England later this year.
