8 times we knew Madison Chock and Evan Bates were in love before they did

The ice dancing duo didn't make it official until 2017, but we knew. WE KNEW.

Even the most casual figure skating and/or Olympics enthusiasts are likely aware of the storybook romance of U.S. ice-dancing champions Madison Chock and Evan Bates, the reigning world champs in their sport for three years running and...the cutest Olympics couple we've ever seen?

The tl;dr of it is this: They became ice-dancing partners in 2011, Bates confessed his love for Chock in 2016, they went public in 2017, got engaged in 2022 and got married in 2024 — all while working their way up to becoming the best ice-dancing duo on the planet.

TALE AS OLD AS TIME.

And while we've put together this lovely gallery of their personal and professional journey together, we can't deny it was pretty easy to see the chemistry between Chock and Bates long before they became a couple.

See for yourself.
