MICHIGAN CENTER, Mich. (WLNS) – The Grass Lake girls basketball team opened the game with a 12-1 run and never looked back in a 75-41 win over Michigan Center on Monday night.
With the win, the Warriors improve to 16-1 (13-0 Cascades East) and take a two-game lead over the Cardinals, who fall to 14-3 (11-2).
Mya Viegelahn led the way for Grass Lake with 25 points and Reese Lape was right behind her with 24.
The Warriors hit nine three-pointers in Monday’s win.
This was the second meeting of the season between the conference rivals. Grass Lake also won the first meeting in a much closer game, 61-55.
Grass Lake is No. 6 in the state in Div. 3 in the latest AP rankings and returns to the court Wednesday at Napoleon at 7 p.m.
Michigan Center’s next game is at Manchester on Wednesday at 7 p.m.
