Manchester United defender Leny Yoro has all but confirmed his availability for Tuesday’s clash against West Ham United.

The high-flying Red Devils travelled to East London on Monday, as they prepare to take on the Hammers in this mid-week’s Premier League matchday.

The contest will take place at the London Stadium, and it kicks off at 20:15 UK time.

Leny Yoro dispels injury fears ahead of West Ham clash

In his pre-match press conference, Michael Carrick confirmed the absence of Matthijs de Ligt and Mason Mount, who have yet to fully regain their fitness levels following the injury ordeals.

On the contrary, Bryan Mbeumo, who was seen limping at the end of Saturday’s win over Spurs, was able to join his teammates on the trip to the capital.

However, recent reports claimed that Yoro might not be fit enough to take part in the action due to fitness issues.

Therefore, the young Frenchman replied with a story posted on his personal Instagram account, confirming his arrival in London.

But while the 20-year-old should be in the matchday squad, it remains to be seen if he will get the nod. Last season, Yoro was described as one of the few ‘untouchable’ players at Man Utd under Ruben Amorim’s tutelage.

But while he was a regular starter in the first months of the 2025/26 campaign, a dip in form saw him lose his starting spot towards the end of the Portuguese manager’s reign at Old Trafford.

Could Yoro return to Man Utd starting lineup?

The young centre-back has been finding it hard to break into the starting XI under Carrick, especially with the more experienced duo of Lisandro Martinez and Harry Maguire producing solid displays at the back.

The French defender has only played one minute in Carrick’s first four matches in charge, coming in as a late substitute against Fulham.

Therefore, it remains to be seen if the 44-year-old will consider making changes to the lineup that beat Spurs only three days ago, and whether Yoro will be part of the rotation.

Fellow young defender Ayden Heaven has also been relegated to the bench recently and will be hellbent on taking the field against West Ham.

That being said, Maguire and Martinez remain the favourites to maintain their roles at the back, especially since Man Utd won’t play for another 13 days, so they will have plenty of rest time once they return from London.

The Red Devils will remain idle over the weekend, having been knocked out of the FA Cup. Their next game will be a home Premier League contest against Everton on February 23.
