Transfer: Massa Ouattara joins Tunisia
The Burkinabè international central defender, Massa Souleymane Ouattara, has taken flight to the Tunisian Ligue 1.
It is AS Gabès, currently 15th in the Tunisian Ligue 1, where Souleymane Ouattara has set down his bags. The 26-year-old defender leaves the Burkinabè championship and embarks on his first adventure in North Africa.
The former AS Douanes player arrives from CEFFEB, newly promoted to FasoFoot Ligue 1, whom he joined at the start of the current season. An experienced player, Massa Souleymane Ouattara was called up to the Burkina Faso national team in March 2024 for friendly matches against Niger and Libya. He also played a key role for the local national team in the last CHAN tournament.
Souleymane is a calm and strong defender with excellent vision on the pitch, also capable of playing as a holding midfielder. Strong on set pieces, he could be a major asset for AS Gabès as they fight to stay in Tunisia's top flight.
