How did former LSU defensive end K'Lavon Chaisson fare in Super Bowl

Former LSU defender K’Lavon Chaisson was a key piece of the New England Patriots’ defense in 2025. How did the former Tiger perform in Super Bowl LX?

Former LSU football edge rusher K’Lavon Chaisson just completed a career-reviving season with the New England Patriots. Expectations for Chaisson were sky-high coming out of LSU, as he was a key part of the Tigers’ 2019 National Championship run, earning first-team All-SEC honors and defensive MVP in the CFP Semifinals, which culminated in his being a first-round selection by the Jacksonville Jaguars in the 2020 NFL Draft.

Chaisson was never able to put it together during his time in Jacksonville, recording five sacks over his four seasons with the team, per Pro Football Focus. Things began to trend upward for the former Tiger in 2024 with the Raiders, but his true breakout came in 2025 with the Patriots.

Chaisson ranked near the top of the league in several statistical categories during the 2025 regular season, finishing 18th in pressures (54) and 21st in sacks (9), per PFF. He stayed hot through the first three rounds of the playoffs, recording 18 pressures and three sacks ahead of the Super Bowl.

Unfortunately, Chaisson was unable to bring that same impact to Super Bowl LX, which ended in a 29-13 Patriots loss. He nearly made a game-changing play, delivering a massive hit on Seahawks quarterback Sam Darnold that nearly forced a fumble, but Darnold managed to get the ball out just in time. Chaisson finished the game with two pressures and a quarterback hit, per PFF, closing out his exceptional season on a disappointing note.

It’s hard to be too disappointed if you’re Chaisson, however. He signed a one-year, three-million-dollar deal with New England before the season and is now an unrestricted free agent. He currently ranks 27th on ESPN’s 2026 Free Agent rankings, and given how hungry teams are for players who can get 10+ sacks a year, the former Tiger is set for a massive payday.
