Wessel Nijman is one of PDC darts top young players.
The 25-year-old won his fourth career Players Championship event title on Tuesday, winning PC2 of the 2026 PC series.
He's been one of the top players on the Pro Tour in the last 12+ months, and he's a breakout performance at a major away from truly becoming one of the game's top players.
Wessel Nijman has top 16 on Main OoM in sight after PC2 title
Nijman currently sits 25th on the Main OoM.
His latest stint on the tour has been in the last two years, as he's quickly begun playing in more majors and Pro Tour events regularly.
His only issue has been executing at TV majors, which was evident in 2025.

Nijman has plenty of runs at tournaments for European Tour and PC events, but has no quarterfinal appearances at any majors.
He's come close, but it always seems to be issues on the doubles or not executing in key moments that come back to haunt him.
Luckily for Nijman, all it takes is starting to carry performances from the Pro Tour to majors for him to make another big jump.
He's currently about £114,000 away from Rob Cross, who is 16th on the Main OoM.
It seems like a huge margin, because it is, but Nijman has one thing on his side.

He's defending little to no money at most majors this year, meaning he already has an advantage on opponents when he shows up and plays in the first round of events.
Obviously, advancing helps as well, but he's proven he can take down talented players, so now it's a matter of some better luck and execution.
Nijman will be defending no prize money at the World Matchplay, World Grand Prix and European Championship.
At the end of the year, he'll only be going up against a round-robin exit at the Grand Slam of Darts from 2024 and a first-round exit at the Players Championship Finals.
There are very few players with his talent in this type of position, and Nijman is already a top-25-ranked player.
