A fresh report from Africa Foot says Leeds United have put Royal Charleroi’s Yacine Titraoui at the top of their summer wishlist. The club are clearly keeping a close watch on the midfielder. His performances in the Jupiler Pro League have already made a huge impression on Daniel Farke’s recruitment team. Sunderland tried to secure him last summer, but it is anyone’s guess if the Black Cats are still keen.
Leeds United Eye Royal Charleroi’s Yacine Titraoui as Summer Priority
Titraoui moved to the Belgian side from Paradou AC in July 2024 for €1.2m. Just recently, he moved to a new agency that specialises in Premier League deals. Africa Foot sees this as a major hint that he is ready to move to England. Charleroi agreed to a 25% sell-on clause with his old club, so they won’t let him go cheap. Expect them to hold out for a fee well above his €5m market value to get the best possible return.
Analysing the Midfield Battle: Should Sunderland Re-ignite Their Pursuit?
At only 22, Titraoui has the high potential and composure that usually gets English scouts excited. The Algerian international is already playing for his country and brings the kind of energy to the midfield that Leeds clearly want. He is under contract until 2027 with an option for a further year. That gives Charleroi a very strong hand at the negotiating table.

Sunderland have a tough choice to make here. They missed their chance before. Now they have to decide if it is worth jumping back into the race. The player’s price tag has likely gone up. This could make any further chase a bit of a gamble.
Sunderland’s usual plan is to buy players whose value will grow. However, a bidding war with a determined Leeds United could drive the price too high. The final cost might end up way beyond what they are willing to pay.
If Daniel Farke sees the midfielder as a vital part of his setup, Leeds might move fast to get a deal done early in the window. Titraoui is exactly the kind of ball-carrier who can break through defensive lines. Farke really values this skill.
For Sunderland, the big question is whether they actually need to spend this much on their midfield right now. They might test Charleroi’s resolve if they still rate him highly. However, the player’s move to UK-based agents shows he has a specific plan for his career path.
If Leeds can offer Premier League football or a better way to get there, the pull of Elland Road might be too much to turn down. Sunderland must promise him a starting spot and a massive financial package. Otherwise, walking away to look at other options might be the smarter move.
