PEORIA, Ill. (WMBD) – On one of the last nights of the regular season for girls hoops, the Washington Panthers clinched the Mid-Illini championship with a 57-37 win over Morton.
Becca McDougall scored the 1,000th point of her career and Dani Guedet led the Panthers in scoring with 18. Top-ranked Washington (26-2, 13-1) and third-ranked Morton (23-5, 12-2) now head to separate regionals but could meet in the Galesburg sectional.
The Richwoods Knights wrapped up an undefeated Big 12 girls basketball championship with a 72-19 win at home against Urbana. Normal West also picked up a win over Peoria Notre Dame and Dunlap beat Metamora in girls hoops.
In boys hoops, Cole Dubois scored 14 and Quinton Kitt 12 to lead the East Peoria Raiders to a win over Lincoln, 58-31. Big 12 leader Peoria High stayed unbeaten in conference place with a road win in overtime against Champaign Central, 53-48.
Other boys winners included Richwoods, Normal Community, Canton, Peoria Notre Dame, U-High, Dee-Mack, Tremont, Eureka, and Central Catholic.
