Norway skier’s girlfriend responds to viral Winter Olympics cheating

Sturla Laegreid’s Winter Olympics journey has been extremely turbulent during the opening week of the event in Milan, and his viral moment doesn’t appear to be getting any better.

The 2026 Olympics bronze medalist caught immediate internet traction this week after breaking down in tears on camera. This came after Laegreid admitted to cheating on his girlfriend and he attempted to win her back.

However, Laegreid’s public Winter Olympics cheating scandal has taken another turn after his former flame responded.

While Laegreid may have captured a medal during his Winter Olympics event, his ex-girlfriend certainly had a lot to say about his actions outside of skiing.

“It is hard to forgive,” Sturla Laegreid’s ex-girlfriend claimed. “Even after a declaration of love in front of the whole world. I did not choose to end up in this situation and it hurts to have to be in it. We have been in contact and he is aware of my views on this.”

Laegreid has a shot at winning more medals in Milan this year, but it looks like his success won’t be accompanied by his former lover.
