According to Arizona Sports’ John Gambadoro, the Suns All-Star is on track in his recovery from a right hip strain, and his return is on the horizon as the team heads to California early next week.
Booker has been out of action since Feb. 19, when he exited against the San Antonio Spurs after suffering a right hip strain midgame. Despite attempting to play through it, he eventually was ruled out and placed on the injured list.
Phoenix has needed Booker’s offensive spark during his absence, losing four of five games in that stretch before a thrilling win over the Los Angeles Lakers on Thursday. While the club has shown it is capable of producing and going deep into its bench during Booker’s time away at different points this season, his average 24.7 points per game have been missed — especially in games the Suns could not quite close out.

Just one game out of the sixth seed in the Western Conference, the Suns cannot afford to slip and must keep their postseason hopes alive. With other key contributors like Dillon Brooks and Jordan Goodwin sidelined for longer periods, Booker’s availability could prove vital during this stretch.
While the team has not officially confirmed his status or provided a firm return date, the report indicates his comeback is approaching and that this extended break is giving him valuable time to rest and prepare his body for the final push.

The Suns head on the road to face the Sacramento Kings on Tuesday, March 3, at 9 p.m.
