In D3 boys hoops, the Onsted Wildcats dominated Manchester in the second half to secure the district title
MANCHESTER — The Onsted Wildcats wild season continues on after Friday night’s exciting D3 District championship pitting the Wildcats versus the Manchester Flying Dutchmen.
Onsted took control of the district final with a dominant second half, outscoring Manchester 33-13 throughout the third and fourth quarters to pull away for the 51-33 victory.
Onsted was led by Bryson Sutherland who had an absolutely huge all-around performance with 12 points, eight blocks, and seven rebounds.
Mason Chesser led the team in scoring with 13 points to go along with eight rebounds while Cole Wells added 11 points and five steals. Rounding out the Onsted effort was Rylan Henagan who ran an efficient offense all night long, finishing with nine points and nine assists.
Onsted now advances to the Michigan High School Athletic Association (MHSAA) Division 3 Regional 22 semifinal where it will face off with the winner of the Erie Mason District, Ottawa Lake Whiteford (21-3).
