Marcus Freeman is coaching Notre Dame Football in 2026, but what about a few years from now?

The rumors were persistently consistent for a big portion of the Notre Dame offseason. After Notre Dame was snubbed by the college football playoff committee, fans wondered when the irish would announce a new contract extension for head coach Marcus Freeman. Instead, we got more and more NFL rumors — specifically one that surrounded the New York Giants.
Through it all, there were nothing but crickets until Marcus finally tweeted out that he was running it back in 2026. While that squashed any move this year, it still left some Irish fans a little uneasy about the future.
