Bleacher Report has compiled its ranking of the 50 biggest NFL free-agent busts of all time, placing former New England Patriots wide receiver Antonio Brown at No. 46.
Brown signed a one-year, $10.5 million deal with the Patriots in 2019 following his release from the Raiders. He appeared in just one game, recording 56 yards and a touchdown before being released amid serious allegations. It's safe to say that the brief stint provided little return on New England's investment.
The ranking reflects how quickly the AB situation in New England fell apart after high expectations. Brown later contributed to a Super Bowl victory with the Buccaneers, but his time in New England remains one of the more disappointing "What if?" moments in recent Patriots history.
Brown’s final meaningful NFL campaign came in 2021with Tom Brady and the Buccaneers. He caught 62 passes for 848 yards and five touchdowns in 15 regular-season games before adding key playoff production that helped Tampa Bay capture Super Bowl LV.
Off-field issues and a suspensions ultimately forced him out of the league, but his elite speed and route-running still flashed at a high level in limited action before his NFL career concluded.
