Report – Inter Milan To Make Final Decision On Swiss Goalkeeper’s Future In June

Inter Milan goalkeeper Yann Sommer is reportedly facing an uncertain future amid the club’s pursuit of a new shot-stopper. 

According to Sky Sport Italia via FCInter1908, the Nerazzurri will make a final decision regarding the 37-year-old’s contract in the summer.

Yann Sommer has entered the final five months of his deal at San Siro.

Meanwhile, Cristian Chivu’s side had initially considered severing ties with the former Bayern Munich star at the end of the season.

However, they could still change their mind.

Despite facing criticism for several underwhelming performances, Sommer has been impressive in goal this term.

Indeed, the veteran goalkeeper has racked up a jaw-dropping 14 clean sheets in 25 Serie A appearances.

Therefore, he has emerged as the best stopper in Europe’s top-five leagues.

Naturally, the club could reward their stalwart with a new deal, though it’s not a foregone conclusion.

Meanwhile, the Nerazzurri have already identified Tottenham Hotspur ace Guglielmo Vicario as an ideal long-term replacement in case they part ways with Sommer.
