Fresh off her successful SummerSlam 2025 title defense, Becky Lynch didn’t waste time turning the heat up on Monday's WWE Raw at MetLife Stadium.

In an exchange with Nikki Bella, the WWE Women’s Intercontinental Champion unloaded a brutal verbal jab that easily blurred the lines between storyline and real-life history.

After Bella referenced Seth Rollins, Lynch’s real-life husband, Lynch shot back with a claim that lit up the arena.

"Okay, do not talk about me and my hot husband," Lynch said. "Me and my hot husband are the greatest wrestling couple of all time."

Lynch kept going, throwing up John Cena’s iconic “You can’t see me” hand gesture, driving the point home with a line that immediately drew a loud reaction from the crowd attending the event.

"But wait a minute, at one point that would have been you and—oh wait, you can't see him anymore."

Bella and Cena’s highly publicized engagement ended in 2018, and their relationship remains one of WWE’s most talked-about off-screen stories.

A Title Challenge... and a Sucker Punch

Shaken but undeterred, Bella fired back at Lynch’s taunt by calling her a “liar” and a “scared little girl.”

Bella then issued a direct challenge to the reigning Intercontinental Champion.

“Why don’t you put your Intercontinental Championship on the line and face me one-on-one?” Bella said. "Nikki Bella vs. Becky Lynch."

Lynch paused, appearing to consider the match and getting a speech going.

"You know why we never went one-on-one," Lynch answered. "We never went one-on-one, because—."

Then, without warning, Lynch delivered a sucker punch to Bella’s chin and neck area and exited the ring with her title raised, shouting, “How’s your neck?”

Is Becky Lynch Setting the Stage for Clash in Paris?

With Lyra Valkyria barred from ever again challenging Lynch following the former's SummerSlam loss, Bella now appears positioned as the next major threat to Lynch’s title reign.

The most prominent WWE event scheduled for the near future in which the eventual showdown could take place is Clash in Paris, set for Aug 31 in the western region of the French capital.

Bella, a WWE Hall of Fame inductee, made a shocking return to the WWE back in February after not appearing in a match since 2022. She entered the women's Royal Rumble match at the number 30 spot to a humongous crowd reaction.
