Peyton Manning is ready for football season.
Consider that Peyton is one of the greatest football players to live, is an active broadcaster for football and has forgotten more about this game that we all love than any of us will ever know.
Yet he is just like us.
In an exclusive Q&A session that SB Nation is proud to share, Peyton touched on some of the things he is most looking forward to this NFL season. It should come as no surprise to hear that he is pumped to watch the Denver Broncos, Indianapolis Colts and Tennessee Volunteers, but something that stood out here was one of the games he was most looking forward to.
Peyton noted that he is excited to watch the Broncos host the Cincinnati Bengals as it will feature Joe Burrow taking his team out to Mile High. Burrow is sort of today’s version of Peyton in that he is the most successful challenge to the game’s modern Tom Brady in Patrick Mahomes, so it makes sense for Peyton to lean into that a bit.
Ultimately though in listening to Peyton’s answers it is apparent as noted that he is a simple man who just loves football. He wants to watch football and do so with people he enjoys alongside the proper tools, and for him one of those includes Bud Light.
Peyton has been known to be quite the comedian during both his days as a player and in those following his career. Getting to experience his wit and charm through his broadcasting career with his brother Eli Manning has made connecting with him all the more fun over the last few years.
