The 2025 high school football season will be getting underway in a few short weeks, which means it’s officially preview season. Rivals is breaking down the nation’s top teams from coast-to-coast, and today we make our way over to the Hoosier State for the first time to look at the defending IHSA Class 6A state champion Brownsburg Bulldogs. The Bulldogs are coming off a 2024 campaign in which they won their first state championship since 1985. Can Brownsburg make another run and repeat as state champs this fall?
Player Spotlight: QB Oscar Frye
Anytime you can bring back your state championship-winning quarterback, you’re already on the right track to having a better chance of repeating. For the Bulldogs, Frye was just a sophomore signal caller running the show en route to winning a title. Now a year older and wiser, Frye should be able to take that next step under center for the white and purple. In 2024, Frye completed 156 of 242 passes for 2,445 yards and 22 touchdowns. Look for Frye to surpass 3,000 yards and 30-plus touchdowns this season.
Others to watch: RB Shakovon Sumpterbey, WR Avin Robinson, DL Dami Sowunmi, WR Branden Sharpe, OL Mezziahs McDaniel, RB Brady Lewis
Season Prediction: 9-0
One of the most important regular season opening games in quite some time for Brownsburg will take place when they welcome Maryland power Archbishop Spalding into town on Aug. 22. That will determine a lot in our minds of how this season may play out for the Bulldogs. It’s really hard to see this team not be able to open up with a tone setting victory and just running the table. Yes, all the way to Lucas Oil Field and claiming another Class 6A state championship seems not only possible, but almosy inevitable.
