It won’t count in the National Football League record books, but it was still fun to see at a time when the entire country is aching for football season to start.

Jacksonville Jaguars kicker and former Razorback Cam Little gave fans plenty to talk about when he cleared a 70-yard field goal right as time expired in the first half of the Jags’ preseason game against the Pittsburgh Steelers on Saturday.

If that would have been in the regular season then it would be a new NFL record, but that still belongs to Justin Tucker, who converted from 66 yards out in 2021 against the Detroit Lions.

This impressive feat by Little occurred one day after former Razorback teammate Jake Bates hit a 57-yarder for the Lions in their Friday matchup against the Atlanta Falcons.

The Moore (Okla.) native was a First-Team All-SEC selection his junior season and was then selected in the sixth round, 212th overall, in the 2024 NFL Draft by the Jaguars.

Little had a breakout first year as a pro and was named to the Pro Football Writers of America (PFWA) All-Rookie Team after successfully converting 27 of his 29 field goal attempts (93.1%) with a long of 59 and scored a total of 108 points. He also had 65 touchbacks on kickoffs.

Little left Fayetteville as the Arkansas‘ all-time most accurate kicker, connecting on 82.8% (53 of 64) of his attempts in 38 games from 2021-2023. He was also a perfect 129 of 129 on extra point attempts.

Additional accolades during Little’s time as a Razorback included being named to the SEC All-Freshman Team, as well as Freshman All-American (PFF, FWAA, The Athletic) in 2021.
