August 30, 2025, will be Lee Corso's final show for ESPN's "College GameDay." After a legendary run, Corso will hang it up and make one final headgear pick before the game between the Texas Longhorns and Ohio State Buckeyes in Columbus, Ohio.
Thursday was Corso's 90th birthday, and congratulations came from a lot of big names, including fellow "College GameDay" host Kirk Herbstreit.
On Thursday night, Corso was spotted at the NFL preseason game between the Indianapolis Colts and Baltimore Ravens, just weeks before his final "College GameDay" appearance.

Corso dealt with various health issues over the past decade-plus, and he suffered a stroke in 2009 that caused him to miss time on the show as well. He missed a few "College GameDay" shows this past season, and fans were always curious where he was and how he was doing when he wasn't on the set.
Davis had mentioned in 2024 that Corso had undergone a “minor procedure" that forced him to miss "College GameDay." So, fans are also searching for an update on Corso, who has been a cornerstone of "College GameDay" for what seems like forever.
On Thursday, Davis gave everyone what they wanted, and fans took notice of the photo.
"Wishing him all the best, not going to be the same without him," one person wrote. "He's a legend," said another. Plenty of birthday wishes also came from fans everywhere in replies to Davis' post.
Lee Corso's College GameDay History
Corso has been a part of "College GameDay" ever since 1987, which was when the first episode of the show took place.
Corso is also famously known for his headgear picks, and he has made 430 of those throughout his time on the show with a 286-144 record all-time.
In April, it was revealed that Corso's time with "College GameDay" would be coming to an end, but there is one more show in store for him.
ESPN also announced on Thursday that they will air a one-hour TV special in honor of Corso that will "highlight Corso’s extraordinary life, his larger-than-life personality and the immeasurable impact he has had on college football."
That show will take place on August 22, and Corso's final headgear pick and emotional ending to a legendary "College GameDay" run will take place on August 30.
