Pete Carroll's name is synonymous with Seattle Seahawks football. So, after 14 seasons coaching the Seahawks, Carroll's return as an opposing coach, in Seattle, was viewed as a big deal.

After taking one year off from coaching in the NFL, Carroll is making his return to the sidelines as the head coach of the Las Vegas Raiders. The 73-year-old Carroll is considered one of the greatest coaches in NFL history, and is revered in Seattle after leading the Seahawks to their only Super Bowl victory in franchise history in 2013.

Even with his first return to Seattle being a Week 1, preseason matchup between the Seahawks and Raiders, Carroll himself couldn't help from reminiscing on his 14-year tenure with the Seahawks.

During his postgame press conference, of the 23-23 tie (there's no overtime in preseason), Carroll made an honest, but somewhat shocking admission, about his former team.

"There was a couple times when guys made plays, and I'm looking at the screen in the endzone, and I thought that was our guys making the play. That did happen a couple of times," Carroll admitted.

Carroll has had an incredible amount of success in his coaching career. He holds a 170-120-1 record in his 18-year NFL coaching career. His 170 wins ranks No. 17 all-time and ranks No. 4 amongst active coaches.

With Carroll returning to the NFL-coaching ranks, he currently stands as the oldest coach in the league at 73 years old. He'll turn 74 on Sept. 15. The next oldest, active coach it he NFL is Andy Reid (67 years, 142 days).
