Stetson Bennett sets career-high in dominant performance

Los Angeles Rams quarterback Stetson Bennett played quite well in his 2025 preseason debut. Bennett looked sharp and helped the Rams pile points on the Dallas Cowboys' defense.

Bennett played well into the fourth quarter in the Rams' 31-21 win over the Cowboys. He led the Rams on five different scoring drives and completed 16 of 24 passes for 188 yards, two touchdowns and one interception. He finished with a quarterback rating of 100.7 and played well. The former Georgia Bulldogs star quarterback added three rushes for 11 yards.

Bennett has been performing well in training camp with increased reps (starting quarterback Matthew Stafford has been out with a back injury, but is expected to return soon). Bennett is in his third year in the NFL and has a good grasp of the Rams' offense.

Bennett set a new career-high with 114 passing yards in the second quarter.

Bennett and the Rams moved the ball well. Los Angeles ran for 181 yards and scored a pair of rushing touchdowns.

"Stetson has been awesome," said Rams coach Sean McVay. Bennett has made the most of the extra reps he's received in training camp.

"I thought he got through some progressions really well today," added McVay. He was impressed with how Bennett responded after an interception.

As expected, Bennett got a lot of playing time. He will look to improve upon his strong opening preseason performance next week as the Rams play the Los Angeles Chargers on Aug. 16.

Stetson Bennett connected on a deep pass early in the first quarter to set up a Rams' touchdown. Bennett was not afraid to go for a home run despite it being fourth down.

This is honestly an interception the Rams will live with. Yes, turnovers are bad plays, but Bennett's third quarter interception was on a deep pass that had pretty good ball placement. It was a little underthrown, but the defensive back made an outstanding play.

Bennett avoided throwing an interception over the middle, which has plagued him in the past.
