You may have heard, but Tyran Stokes is a pretty good basketball player. There is a reason Kentucky has pushed all of its chips in on the Louisville native, ranked as the consensus No. 1 overall prospect in 2026. He’s the perfect anchor to a high school class and the guy to make all of Mark Pope’s recruiting skeptics go away in a hurry. The wins and tournament success have come while stacking portal talent. Bring in a one-and-done superstar? Game-changer.
Stokes, who took an official visit to Lexington back in June, is continuing to prove the Wildcats’ investment in his recruitment necessary. After dominating the EYBL circuit all spring and summer, he’s now taking his game to a different planet at Spooky Nook in Pennsylvania.
Participating in the RWE Summer Slam Shootout, Stokes went for 44 points on Saturday, followed by 41 points on Sunday. In the latter effort, the top-ranked forward drilled eight 3-pointers in the second half alone.
