Daily Schmankerl: Bayern Munich to turn focus back to Chelsea’s Christopher Nkunku?; Benjamin Šeško talks why he chose Manchester United; PSG to part ways with goalkeeper?; Liverpool’s Arne Slot missing Bayern?; and MORE!

Bayern Munich to make a big move…or two?

Is it Nkunku time at Bayern? (Sport Bild’s Christian Falk)

Bayern Munich could be on the verge of losing Kingsley Coman and its No. 1 transfer target — VfB Stuttgart star Nick Woltemade — might not be available.

With many attackers already making their summer moves, Bayern Munich could turn its attention back to Chelsea FC’s Christopher Nkunku:

Bayern Munich could be back in the race for Chelsea winger Christopher Nkunku in the summer transfer window. The German giants were interested in signing the Blues winger during the January window, but they did not want to pay £60m.

The German champions are still looking to bolster their attacking ranks despite signing Luis Diaz, and they could reignite interest in Nkunku.

Christian Falk previously told CFBayern that Bayern’s interest in Nkunku has cooled down, but it appears they have not forgotten him completely.

Nkunku is not in Maresca’s plans. Ben Jacobs has claimed on the London is Blue Podcast that Manchester United are out of the race for the former RB Leipzig winger.

However, Bayern could reignite their interest in the player, although Nick Woltemade remains their first-choice target.

Šeško details why he chose United (GiveMeSport’s Ben Jacobs)

Manchester United striker Benjamin Šeško detailed why he left RB Leipzig in favor of the Red Devils:

🗣️ Benjamin Sesko on why he chose #MUFC. “When we discussed the project, it was clear that everything is in place for this team to continue to grow and compete for the biggest trophies again soon.

“From the moment that I arrived, I could feel the positive energy and family environment that the club has created. It is clearly the perfect place to reach my maximum level and fulfil all of my ambitions.

“I cannot wait to start learning from Ruben and connecting with my team-mates to achieve the success that we all know we are capable of together.”

Bavarian Podcast Works — Flagship Show: Season 8, Episode 5 (Bavarian Football Works)

Bayern Munich woke up this weekend and chose violence — at least toward everyone’s respective social media feeds.

In reality, though, it is just Bayern Munich’s name being tied to all of the rumors because most of the dirty work has been done between Kingsley Coman and Al Nassr. Let’s talk about that evolving issue and more on this edition of the Bavarian Podcast Works Show! This is what we have on tap:

  • Catching up on all of the latest news and rumors regarding the potential sale of Bayern Munich winger Kingsley Coman to Al Nassr.

  • Should there be concern for the team’s depth?
  • A review of all Coman’s key figures since the 2019/20 season and how replacing his production might not be all that difficult.
  • Where things stand with Nick Woltemade and how financially, selling Coman could be beneficial to the club’s future without damning the present.

Slot laments loss of Díaz (Anfield Watch)

Liverpool coach Arne Slot does not sound to happy to have lose Luis Díaz.

“The players we’ve brought in have done really well already, as expected,” Slot told a press conference on Friday. “But I cannot tell you now if these players are able to perform at the same level every three days; we first have to start the season. And I did know Luis Díaz was able to do that, and all the other ones were able to do that. So that is another challenge, because we play so many games.”

Inter ready to sell Pavard (Sempre Inter)

Inter Milan is reportedly ready to part ways with former Bayern Munich defender Benjamin Pavard:

Inter Milan are ready to sell defender Benjamin Pavard this summer after two seasons at the club. This according to today’s print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, via FCInterNews. They report that the Nerazzurri could cash in on the Frenchman and sign Koni De Winter to replace him.

The former Stuttgart defender seemed to be the missing piece in defense for Inter. He was one of the outstanding performers as Inter won the Serie A title in dominant fashion. However, last season things were a bit different. Pavard dealt with a couple notable injuries over the course of the campaign. And furthermore, he made some high profile errors. And in the meantime, this allowed German international defender Yann Bisseck to become ever more prominent in the Nerazzurri starting eleven. For this reason, Tuttosport reports, Inter are ready to part ways with Pavard.

Donnarumma out at PSG? (ESPN)

Paris Saint Germain seems to have move on (at least mentally) from Gianluigi Donnraumma:

Paris Saint-Germain have signed Lille goalkeeper Lucas Chevalier on a five-year contract, the French champions confirmed Saturday.

Sources told ESPN that PSG agreed a fee of €40 million ($47 million) plus an additional €15 million ($17m) in potential bonuses, with Chevalier set to be their new No. 1 goalkeeper. It leaves Gianluigi Donnarumma, who played a key role in PSG’s history-making season last year, to find a new club this summer.

PSG do not want to keep the Italy international and have two top keepers in the squad this season, sources said. The clubs expect an offer from Chelsea, Manchester United or Inter Milan who have all had contact with Enzo Raiola, Donnarumma’s agent, sources added.

Højlund needs to take the hint (Fabrizio Romano)

Rasmus Højlund has no future at Manchester United, but still does not want to leave (though it appears that he should really think about):

🚨⚠️ Zero minutes for Rasmus Højlund today against Fiorentina, clear message coming from Man United.

As revealed two days ago, the club is prepared to let him leave on initial loan for €6m fee with salary covered plus buy option clause.

AC Milan are on it. 🔴⚫️🔛
