Como put to the sword by Barcelona in Joan Gamper Trophy

Como had been invited as opponents to FC Barcelona’s traditional curtain-raiser game to the new season which is known as the Joan Gamper Trophy. The two clubs have a good relationship, given that Como manager Cesc Fabregas came through Barcelona’s academy and played for them. The Italians have also signed Sergi Roberto and Alex Valle from them and are said to be in talks for keeper Inaki Peña.

However the match didn’t really go particularly well for Como, who started with a largely second string side. Barca were too good for them, with Fermin Lopez scoring twice in the first half and Raphinha and Lamine Yamal adding one each.

In the second half, it was a much more equal affair as Como brought on the likes of Maxence Caquaret, Maximo Perrone, Assane Diao, Lucas De Cunha as well as new signings Jacobo Ramon and Jesus Rodriguez. Barcelona still did score another, with Yamal adding his second to make the final scoreline 5-0.
