Mookie Betts' 2025 MLB season has been a struggle. After entering the season with a mysterious illness that caused him to lose a massive amount of weight, he hasn't fully returned to his usual MVP level.
The former MVP, eight-time All-Star, six-time Gold Glove winner, is batting just .239 with 12 home runs and 51 RBIs through 106 games so far this season. It appears Betts could be turning a corner, however, as he has gone 6-for-12 over his last three games.

Mookie Betts Sends Personal Message To His Wife
Betts was asked how much a monster performance like this could help build his confidence and turn things around. Betts used this opportunity to send his wife a special message, on television, for the world to hear.
"Shout out to my wife. My wife is probably the number one person who puts confidence in me, so thank you, honey! And happy birthday!" Betts said to his wife.

With his interview taking place on the field, immediately following the game, Betts sent a special, happy birthday message to his wife who was presumably watching the SportsNet Los Angeles broadcast from home.
Betts is in the midst of the worst season of his career, and is seemingly looking for anything to get his bat back to its usual All-Star caliber level. Prior to the current, three-game hitting streak Betts is experiencing, his batting average dropped to a season-low .231 after going 0-for-20 over his previous five games.
While the Dodgers are still clinging to a three-game lead over the San Diego Padres in the National League West, they could use Betts' usual stellar offensive play as they seek back-to-back World Series championships for the first time in franchise history.
