Georgia Scrimmage One: In The Books!

The Dawgs took to the field in Sanford Stadium on Saturday, and as usual, there was plenty to be garnered from the performance on the field. The best news of the day? It sounds like injuries were not an issue for Georgia this go round, and that’s always a win. Kirby Smart and company may not be loving the mild weather for their early camp goings, but that’s not stopped them from pushing this group to their limits on the practice field and testing who’s bringing that much sought-after ‘FPE’. And how about these blue guardian helmets? What do we make of those, who’s donning them, and what they ultimately may mean? It sounds like the defense stepped up to what’s been a challenge for them to this point in the fall, likely taking the win of the day after being a few steps behind in the week leading up. Who are the guys that are beginning to emerge? Hint: we’re hearing a lot about Adrian Maddox potentially making a move. How about the quarterback spot? While it continues to be all Gunner Stockton as to who has the lead, there’s still plenty to say when it comes to Ryan Puglisi and how he’s progressing as the camp comes along.

The next scrimmage is the big one…

While the first one is always the most exciting, the second scrimmage sets the stage for what’s really to come as far as the season goes. The depth chart will likely be finalized based on what’s ahead in this next week, the fire, passion, and energy will be tested, and those who will march out first to meet Marshall will be determined in a big way. It’s one of the most important points of the fall camp season.
