Ewers had moments, some good and some bad, in the Dolphins’ 24-24 tie with the Bears. Ewers was 5-for-18 for 91 yards, taking two sacks for 19 yards. He also fumbled twice with both recovered by the Bears.

Here are a few clips from Ewers’ day.

Ewers is battling with Zach Wilson to be Tua Tagovailoa‘s backup in Miami. Ewers logged a few quality reps in practice last week that made the rounds on social media and highlighted Ewers’ strengths. However, a different story was told in the game.

He’ll have another opportunity this upcoming week as the Dolphins travel to Detroit to take on the Lions on Saturday.

At Texas, Ewers was 27-9 as a starter, tied for fourth in program history in wins with Sam Ehlinger. He led Texas to back-to-back College Football Playoff semifinal appearances and the 2023 Big 12 Championship. Ewers finished his career with 9128 passing yards, 68 touchdowns, and 24 interceptions plus eight rushing touchdowns.
