Andrés Pérez released from Spire Motorsports, lands new Truck Series ride for 2025 season

In a surprise move, Spire Motorsports has released Andrés Pérez for the rest of the 2025 season, but the driver has a new home. Perez is the 2024 ARCA Menards Series champion and has been racing in his rookie season in the Truck Series with Spire.

The decision to release Andrés Pérez comes after the weekend at Watkins Glen. Perez qualified P4 for the race and was near the front of the Truck Series field for a number of laps. However, things ended in a disappointing P21 finish. He did turn the fastest lap of the race, though.

Pérez is going to move over the Niece Motorsports for the rest of the season. Spire will announce plans for the 77 truck soon, both for this season and for 2026.

“Andrés has made meaningful progress this season, and we remain confident in his future,” Spire said in a statement. “While we haven’t finalized our 2026 plans for the No. 77 team, we wanted to give him the opportunity to look ahead and pursue other options for the remainder of this year and beyond.

“He’s a hard worker, carries himself with humility, and brings a consistently positive attitude to the garage. He comes from a great family, and we fully expect him to continue making strides as part of Chevrolet’s driver development program. We’re proud to have been part of his journey and will continue cheering him on.”

So, Andrés is moving on to Niece Motorsports. Sounds like he will remain with Chevy for the long term.
