There have been only a couple second baseman in New York Yankees history like Jazz Chisholm Jr.

He joined an exclusive club on Monday night.

Chisholm's home run against the Twins was his 20th of the season, which pushes him into the 20 homer, 15 steal club.

And that's a group with only a couple Yanks.

Alfonso Soriano did it twice, back in consecutive seasons in 2002 and 2003. And Joe Gordon did it way back in 1940, per NY Yankees Stats.

Chisholm started the season red hot, then cooled way down, then got hurt, and he's starting to hit his stride again lately.

He's got great tools and has overall been a great acquisition from the 2024 trade deadline by the Yankees.

Baseball statistics are the best because of the way they link eras.

Soriano was a monster in his prime, a 40-40 threat from a position that didn't classically feature great hitters.

Gordon is one of the most underrated players in Yankees history, always overshadowed by all-time greats but often still one of the best hitters in the American League when he played.

For Chisholm to join his name with theirs is quite the feat. He may not quite be on their level, but he's taken huge strides in his game to embrace the Bronx and have the Bronx embrace him.

Now, he has some history to show for it, with plenty of season still to play for Chisholm to build up his numbers even further.
