La Liga champions Barcelona are closing on a deal to add two new faces to the club’s academy ranks.

That’s according to Diario Sport, who have on Tuesday provided an insight into the latest developments behind the scenes in Catalunya’s capital.

Barcelona have long had an agreement in place with the ‘Africa Foot’ academy, with a view to keeping tabs on the African continent’s standout up-and-coming young talents.

The deal has already borne fruit for the Blaugrana on one occasion, culminating in the arrival of attacker Ibrahim Diarra last year.

And as alluded to above, if the latest word stemming from Spain this week is anything to go by, then two of Diarra’s fellow countrymen look set to imminently follow him to Catalunya.

As per a report from Sport:

‘The two new talents that the Blaugrana club will bet on are Malians Aboubacar Maiga and Moustapha Traoré, who already have the approval of the Blaugrana scouts to arrive for a few months on trial with the intention of signing them in the long term.’

Maiga is a gifted creative midfielder, whilst Traoré is described as ‘a very fast winger with great overflow in one-on-one situations’.
