Detroit Lions safety Morice Norris is now recovering after a scary collision during Friday's preseason game against the Atlanta Falcons left him hospitalized.

Norris had to be taken off at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta via an ambulance and brought to a local hospital after he took a hit to the head at the start of the fourth quarter of the game.

How Did Morice Norris Get Injured?

The 24-year-old was attempting to tackle Falcons running back Nathan Carter, but he dipped too low and ended up hitting Carter's lower body. An alternate angle of the play showed Norris' head snapping back, with his fall to the ground shaking his head even more.

Both teams stopped play following the incident, with players gathering around and letting the clock run out before it was officially suspended.

Early on Saturday, the Lions dropped an update on Norris, revealing that he's now "in stable condition and has feeling and movement in all his extremities." However, he needed to stay at Grady Memorial Hospital in Atlanta overnight for observation."

Norris Calls Lions Teammate

Norris provided a statement himself about his condition, sharing on his Instagram Stories that he's doing "good." He also shared his appreciation to those who showed him support through the scary time.

"Amen amen I’m all good man don’t stress it appreciate all the check ins and love," Norris wrote.

Further highlighting the fact that he's doing well, his Lions teammate Terrion Arnold revealed on Instagram that he's in contact with Norris. In fact, it was the second-year safety who called Arnold.

"My dawg @famousmoe26 called me today," Arnold revealed, while sharing a screenshot of his video call with Norris. "Sometimes we forget how precious life is and everything. That goes into playing this game, that we love but we serve an almighty… God thanks for protecting my brother."

The extent of Norris' injury has yet to be revealed, and it's unknown if he's going to miss time as a result of his injury. Detroit has two preseason games remaining — against the Miami Dolphins next Saturday and against the Houston Texans on August 24.

Regardless, the important thing is Norris appears to be in good spirits after his injury scare.
