According to journalist Cesar Luis Merlo, the two clubs are in advanced negotiations for the 30-year-old’s transfer.
If the deal is completed, the Argentine would sign a three-year contract with Miami.
The Herons are in urgent need of defensive reinforcements and view Piovi as an ideal option.
Miami already have Noah Allen, Maximiliano Falcon and Gonzalo Lujan, but the trio haven’t been very convincing this campaign, especially against strong opposition.
