Francesco Pio Esposito views his relationship with new Inter Milan head coach Cristian Chivu as a ‘beautiful story.’
Speaking to Sportitalia via FCInterNews, Esposito hailed his rapport with the 44-year-old tactician.
Francesco Pio Esposito was part of Inter’s starting line-up in last night’s pre-season friendly against Monza.
Despite falling behind early on, Chivu’s charges bounced back to take the lead at the start of the second half.
Indeed, Samuele Birindelli’s incredible own goal and Esposito’s backheel flick helped them turn the game on its head.
However, Paulo Azzi’s 89th-minute equalizer forced penalties, but the Nerazzurri came out on top.
As a result, the San Siro giants have won both summer friendlies following a 2-1 comeback victory against Monaco.
Therefore, the team is heading in the right direction after a heartbreaking 2024/25 season.
Inter will look to end their pre-season preparations on a high when they take on Olympiacos this weekend.

Esposito and Chivu go a long way back.
Indeed, they worked together in Inter’s youth categories, helping create a strong bond.
Therefore, Chivu’s decision to keep the 20-year-old in the squad comes as a little surprise.
“Scoring tonight was an incredible feeling,” Esposito said. “I’m happy we managed to win, even if it took penalties.
“It still helps build the winning mentality we want to create.”
Then he talked about his relationship with the Romanian coach.
“Our bond is full of immense gratitude and recognition,” he continued.
“There’s a special connection, as we’ve grown together football-wise.
“I was in the Under-14s, then the Primavera, and now the first team. It’s a beautiful story.
“Inter is working really, really hard.
“I also want to wish my brother the best for his season at Cagliari, even though, of course, we talk every day in private.”
