Browns' Kevin Stefanski shares honest feelings after Myles Garrett's 8th speeding citation in Cleveland originally appeared on The Sporting News

Cleveland Browns head coach Kevin Stefanski spoke to the media Wednesday for the first time since Myles Garrett's latest citation for speeding.

Stefanski expressed his displeasure.

“It’s been addressed with Myles, with the football team,” Stefanski told reporters on Wednesday morning in a press conference. “He needs to slow down for his safety and the safety of others.”

Garrett was pulled over at 2:01 a.m. Saturday for going 100 miles per hour in a 60 miles per hour zone. The incident took place in Strongsville, just outside of Cleveland.

The Browns had played a preseason game in Charlotte, North Carolina against the Panthers on Friday night. Garrett didn't suit up, but he was in attendance, so this took place after the Browns had flown home.

According to Pro Football Talk, this is Garrett's eighth citation for speeding since he was Cleveland's No. 1 overall pick in 2017.

Garrett has also had an incident where he flipped his Porsche three times while speeding and swerving to avoid an animal in the road, which took place three years ago.

On Wednesday, Stefanski would not tell reporters if Garrett had been disciplined, saying, "I'll keep everything internal."

Garrett is the most prominent player on the Browns roster. He requested a trade early in the offseason only to be given a four-year, $160 million contract extension. It was a record for a non-quarterback at the time, with the average value since broken by Ja'Marr Chase and T.J. Watt.

Browns rookie QB Shedeur Sanders has already had two speeding incidents since being drafted, which Stefanski expressed similar disappointment about. Stefanski's consistent message is about the safety of both the driver and of the others on the road.
