Despite reaching an agreement with Queens Park Rangers on two occasions, Pape Meïssa Ba will not be leaving this summer. The Senegalese striker will continue his journey at FC Schalke 04.
The 28-year-old was on the verge of signing for a Championship club, but the transfer fell through. This situation frustrated his employers, who believe that QPR’s management did not provide any valid reason for this unexpected turn of events.
The sporting director of the 2. Bundesliga club, Frank Baumann, lamented the unexplained delay in responding to formal calls. According to him, the supposed injury cited by QPR as the reason for backing out doesn’t hold up and is nothing more than a poor excuse.
The 28-year-old is expected to quickly rejoin training with his teammates ahead of the new season. Schalke have already played two matches in the German second division against Hertha Berlin (2-1) and Kaiserslautern (0-1).
Arriving at Schalke in January 2025 from Grenoble, the former Dakar Sacré-Cœur player has featured in 13 2. Bundesliga matches, scoring 2 goals and providing 2 assists.
Der geplatzte Transfer von Pape Meissa Ba zu den Queens Park Rangers ist für den FC Schalke 04 ein herber Rückschlag. Ein Kommentar.
