Oklahoma State head coach Mike Gundy has met with the media just once since Fall Camp began for the Cowboy – at OSU’s Media Day on August 2nd. That’s still the case and likely to remain so until he holds his weekly Media Luncheon next Thursday, one week ahead of the season- and home-opener against UT-Martin. Today, though Gundy discussed the goings-on of camp with a brief update shared by the @CowboyFB X account.

“I’m really excited about our players,” Gundy said in response to a question about liking his roster. “Kenyatta (Wright) and Todd Bradford and the assistant coaches have done a great job in the offseason of building this roster.

“My concern throughout the summer and even the start of practices is whether we can build a team, the cohesive part of it, and we’re way ahead. I’m shocked with where we are right now, with the guys actually caring about each other and competing.”

Competing was a theme for Gundy in the brief update.

“I’m really excited. The competition amongst the guys is really good,” Gundy said. “The one difficult part is over the next few days we’ll have to start getting a group together that we feel like is gonna get out there and play on game day. This is going to be difficult, because it’s such a competitive nature this year (in camp).”

So, it seems camp is going well and has healthy competition for starting spots. You can watch the update on the X embed below.
