Olympique de Marseille will begin their 2025/26 Ligue 1 season with a trip to face Stade Rennais, however, there won’t be debuts for two of their new signings.
OM have been busy during the off-season, bringing in plenty of new players to reinforce a squad that finished second in Ligue 1 last season. However, two will not play against Rennes. Facundo Medina, signed from RC Lens, is suspended for the encounter. Igor Paixão, meanwhile, who signed from Feyenoord, has been recovering from an injury in recent weeks. He is nearing a return, but is not yet ready to feature for his new club.
However, there will be competitive Marseille debuts for English duo Angel Gomes and CJ Egan-Riley, most likely. On his return to OM, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang may have to settle for a place on the bench.
