Scottie Scheffler finished tied for third with Tommy Fleetwood in the first round of FedEx Playoffs. They both scored a 15-under par, one shot away from the leaders. Despite not winning the trophy, Scheffler made history.

He managed to repeat a feat not done in 52 years. He has finished top eight in each of his last 12 PGA Tour events, last replicated by Tom Weiskopf.

"Did a lot of good stuff, fought pretty hard most of the week." Scheffler expressed on Sunday. "Today was a day where I executed really well, hit my lines on the greens, hit a lot of good shots going into the greens. Just ball wasn't going in. Just a little bit off, I guess."

He was the favorite heading into the tournament and at one point during the final round, he was in the lead. His two bogeys during the final round ended his trophy hopes.

Scottie Scheffler's Message on New Caddie Brad

Scheffler's usual caddie Ted Scott had to fly home before the final round of the tournament and Brad had to step in. It was not revealed why he had to leave in such a hurry, but something to do with his family.

"He did good. Brad has stepped in before. He's a great friend and he does a good job keeping me company out there," Scheffler said.

Up next, the BMW Championship tees off on Thursday and both the World No. 1 and 2 will be there.

"I hit the ball nicely this week, did a lot of good stuff, and it definitely gives me some confidence going forward," Scheffler added.
