5 players to watch during the New York Jets' preseason game vs. the Giants

Keep an eye on these players for the Jets against the Giants.

The New York Jets are gearing up for their second preseason contest in 2025 against their cross-town rival, the Giants.

While boundaries are being drawn ahead of Saturday's game, the annual affair is going to give insight into both rosters heading into the upcoming season.

With that, here are Jets Wire's five players to watch for during the Jets' preseason matchup with the Giants:

QB Justin Fields

Fields only played the first series of the Jets' first preseason outing and it ended in a touchdown. He looked good. Will Fields make some magic happen again?

OL Armand Membou

The first-round rookie is always one to watch in the preseason. But Membou is facing what might be the NFL's best defensive line in game action at his right tackle spot. This is a huge measuring stick.

TE Jeremy Ruckert

After it appeared as though New York Jets tight end Jeremy Ruckert (89) completed a pass, he bobbled the ball and was unable to hold onto it, Sunday, November 17, 2024, in East Rutherford.

While Fields has had some big plays during training camp with rookie tight end Mason Taylor, Ruckert is building some momentum with him too. Do these former Ohio State teammates have something building as well?

RB Breece Hall

The passing game was mostly the focus for the Jets offense in the first week of the preseason. That will likely continue, but Hall did not do well in his limited touches. Braelon Allen was the much better running back for the Green and White so it would be reassuring to see Hall rip off a few good plays.

DE Jermaine Johnson

Finally, the defense... and this is simple. Johnson has so much potential and after leaving the PUP list? Any snaps from him well be beautiful to see... let alone if he makes a big play.
