Four St. Louis Cardinals prospects were among MLB Pipeline's updated Top 100 prospects list released on Monday.

Leading the way was middle-infielder JJ Wetherholt, who moved to No. 6 on the latest ranking.

Wetherholt, 22, was recently named the organizations Minor League Player of the Month for July. The Cardinals seventh overall pick in the 2024 MLB Draft, Wetherholt slashed .306/.395/.708 with 7 HR, 16 RBI in 19 games between Double-A Springfield and Triple-A Memphis last month. He was also the Cardinals lone representative at the MLB All-Star Futures Game.

Since being promoted to Memphis on July 7, Wetherholt has been on a tear, slashing .295/.394/.615 with six home runs and 13 RBIs in 21 games. A shortstop by trade, he's also seen action at the hot corner recently, perhaps an indicating an impending promotion to the big league club. Cardinals gold glove third baseman Nolan Arenado was placed on the 10-day injured list on August 1 with a right shoulder strain, and his timetable for returning is unknown.

Cardinals 2025 No. 1 Pick Liam Doyle Joins Top 100

For the first time since this year's MLB Draft concluded, the Top 100 prospect rankings included the 2025 draft picks. Cardinals top pick (No. 5 overall) Liam Doyle, a left-hander out of Tennessee, was ranked No. 34.

This past season with the Volunteers, Doyle was 10-4 with a 3.20 ERA and 164 strikeouts, which led all Division I pitchers. The Cardinals signed Doyle for a below-slot deal $7.25 Million on July 17.

A pair of Cardinals catching prospects were also among the Top 100. Leonardo Bernal checked in at No. 74, while 18-year old Rainiel Rodriguez was No. 99.

LHP Quinn Matthews Drops Out of Top 100

Despite earning the International League's Pitcher of the Week honors, Cardinals prospect Quinn Matthews fell out of the Top 100. The organizations No. 2 prospect prior to the update, Matthews is now the Cardinals No. 5 prospect.

Four of the five prospects the Cardinals acquired at the MLB Trade Deadline were also ranked among the organizations Top 30 - shortstop Jesus Baez checked in at No. 7, right-hander Nate Dohm No. 17, corner infielder Blaze Jordan No. 18, and left hander Mason Molina No. 27.
