Aaron Rodgers has begun his first season with the Pittsburgh Steelers, looking to get back on track after a disappointing two-year run with the New York Jets.

In his first season in New York, Rodgers suffered an Achilles tear just a couple of plays in, ending his year. In 2024, the former Green Bay Packers star struggled and the Jets missed out on the playoffs, ultimately leading to Rodgers' departure. He signed a one-year, $13.65 million deal with the Steelers in the offseason.

During Tuesday’s training camp session, Rodgers was seen with heavy bandages and ice on his lower right leg. Fortunately, it was the opposite leg that he hurt two seasons ago.

Still, given his recent injury history, the sight left many NFL fans concerned for the 41-year-old, who quickly became the subject of social media discussion.

"Aaron Rodgers gets a BIG bag of ice wrapped around his leg. NOT good 😬," one fan said.

"Is that the Achilles side?" asked another.

"Not good," wrote a third.

"its over, cancel the season now!" commented a fourth.

"Get used to it. He wont be healthy," claimed a fifth.

"Torn right Achilles looks like…Mason time!!" added a sixth.

Despite the injury scare, the Steelers dodged a bullet as Rodgers only had a cut on his shin after getting stepped on. Still, he didn't miss any reps.

"Aaron Rodgers got bumped or stepped on in an 11-on-11 rep and got his right ankle/shin wrapped on the last practice of training camp in Latrobe," Post-Gazette Sports' Brian Batko wrote on X. "That’s off and he’s back to work in team periods, hasn’t missed any reps."

The Steelers will play in their next preseason game on Saturday, hosting the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Their regular season opener is on Sept. 7 against Rodgers' former team, the Jets.
