Shedeur Sanders is the last player on the depth chart. However, he is learning from a veteran and even sometimes has him happy that he is taking things from him on the field.

The Cleveland Browns are still figuring out how to shuffle their quarterback room, which currently has four players on the depth chart. They are likely to keep it that way, with Shedeur Sanders at the bottom of the lineup. However, Sanders has been making an impact off the field through his community involvement.

“I’ll be honest with you, I’ve never seen what Shedeur Sanders is doing this early on in a player’s career,” Cecil Shorts said on Cleveland’s 92.3 The Fan. “I’ve never seen that before, I’ve never seen a rookie come into the league and before he even played a snap is already in the Garden Valley Projects … All the things he’s doing (in the community). It’s a special thing he’s doing, that’s not normal.”

Sanders had a strong preseason opener, which was much needed after earlier practices where he had to throw to equipment staff.

“Shedeur Sanders apparently is throwing not to receivers but to equipment guys. They have got equipment guys snapping him the ball and then also running the routes. Mahomes is throwing to Kelce, Shedeur is throwing to equipment guys,” ESPN Cleveland’s Aaron Goldhammer said.

Former NFL quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick believes Joe Flacco will get the Week One starting nod. Flacco is on a one-year deal, and the Browns are hoping to take some time before making a long-term decision about their quarterback situation. In a recent video, Sanders revealed how he can make Flacco look like a proud dad.

“I see Joe do something, and I’m like, ‘Alright, bro. I’m gonna try that.’ And then I do it and it’s cool cause I’m like, ‘Hey, bruh I did this cause I seen you do it.’ And then he’ll be smiling like a proud dad,” Sanders said.

Even though Sanders isn’t one of the main quarterbacks, he is still finding ways to connect with and learn from his teammates. With Flacco nearing the end of his career, he likely enjoys watching the younger players pick up on what he does. This is the ultimate sign of respect between a veteran and a rookie.
