The former No. 2 overall pick of the Bears shared some wisdom with the current Qb in Chicago.
Bills QB Mitch Trubisky shares heartfelt advice with Chicago Bears QB Caleb Williams originally appeared on The Sporting News
Buffalo Bills backup quarterback Mitch Trubisky is in the midst of his second stint with the team and is competing to be QB2 on the depth chart behind Josh Allen. It's easy to forget that Trubisky was once looked at as the potential future of the Chicago Bears, who drafted him with the No. 2 overall pick in the 2017 NFL Draft.
Trubisky was the first quarterback off the board that year - eight picks ahead of Patrick Mahomes. And while he put together a Pro Bowl season in 2018 and led the Bears to an NFC North division title, he failed to reach anything close to those heights again and was out of Chicago after the 2020 season.
Trubisky spoke with the media on Friday, as the Bills had joint practice with the Bears in Chicago, and was asked what advice he would give to second-year quarterback Caleb Williams - his answer didn't disappoint.
"I would say enjoy it," Trubisky said. "Really take it all in. I only had it for four years. I wish I had it longer. Take it in. Enjoy the process. All eyes are on you in this city, but it's really a privilege. And there is a lot of pressure that comes with that, but it's a privilege. And I miss that. It's a lot of fun to be a franchise guy, especially in a city like this."
It's clear that Trubisky has a lot of love for the city and the team that drafted him, and hopes to see Williams succeed.
