A recent report regarding the Golden State Warriors and Jonathan Kamanga could bod well for the Sacramento Kings.
Recent Jonathan Kuminga, Warriors Report Could Benefit Kings originally appeared on Athlon Sports.
It has been an interesting offseason thus far for the Sacramento Kings as they have tried to upgrade their roster to chase a playoff spot in the loaded Western Conference next season.
Of course, the Kings are set to enter next season led by their core of Domantas Sabonis, DeMar DeRozan and Zach LaVine but they have also made some notable additions to their roster.
So far this offseason, the Kings have added Nique Clifford, Maxime Raynaud and Dennis Schroder to their roster to upgrade their depth.
Sacramento has also been linked to other players this offseason, including Golden State Warriors forward Jonathan Kuminga.
It has been reported that the Kings have offered Kuminga a contract in free agency but the Warriors turned down their trade offer of Malik Monk and a protected first-round pick.
While the Kings have yet to agree on a deal that would land them Kuminga in a sign-and-trade, a report by ClutchPoints’ Brett Siegel on Thursday bodes well for them.
New Jonathan Kuminga report could benefit Kings
According to Siegel, Kuminga is not budging on his current stance and he has no interest in returning to Golden State next season.
“Kuminga is not budging and continues to passively let it be known he does not wish to return to the Warriors. If he is to be back with Golden State, nobody expects it to be a long-term marriage, and Kuminga will make sure it's on his terms,” Siegel wrote.

This is a massive report for the Warriors, but also for the Kings as it appears as though Kuminga’s time in Golden State is quickly nearing an end.
For the Kings, this report bodes well for them as the Warriors may now be forced to lower their asking price for their young forward, meaning that Sacramento could land him in a trade for a much cheaper price.
This is massive news for the Kings as they have emerged as one of the only options for Kuminga this offseason as other teams around the league have not shown much interest in him besides the Phoenix Suns who also had their trade offer turned down by the Warriors.
With Siegel’s report, it appears as though the Warriors may be forced to trade Kuminga this summer, and with the lack of interest in him around the NBA, the Kings may in the driver’s seat to acquire him.
