Franco-Algerian Ilan Kebbal discusses his future with the national team

The Paris FC midfielder still hopes to finally get his chance with the Greens.

At 27, Ilan Kebbal is still waiting to make his official debut for the Algerian national team. Already called up once in 2021 without getting on the pitch, the attacking midfielder has never given up on his dream of wearing the Greens’ jersey.

Now back in Ligue 1 with Paris FC, the Franco-Algerian player sees this step as the perfect opportunity to get closer to the national squad. Aware of the fierce competition, Kebbal is now banking on the consistency of his performances to convince Vladimir Petkovic and his staff.

"The national team is on my mind. I know there are some very talented Algerian players, especially up front with Amine Gouiri, Riyad Mahrez the legend, Hadj Moussa... But we’ll fight for it. If I do well with Paris FC, who knows... Maybe Ligue 1 will change things. We know there’s more spotlight on us," he added, convinced that the door to the national team is still open.

For him, wearing the green and white shirt is not just a sporting goal, but the fulfillment of a dream he’s cherished for many years. With patience and determination, Kebbal hopes his moment will finally come.
