It's been a loud offseason thus far for the Cincinnati Bengals and it sounds like things just got a little noisier a few weeks out from the start of the NFL's regular season.

The franchise has dealt with numerous contract dealings, trade requests and holdouts that have generated a ton of headlines since the beginning of the new league year. And now it seems that matters have just gotten worse with one of the team's biggest stars.

It's no secret that Bengals ownership has historically been cheap. But after handing out tons of money on the offensive side of the ball over the past few months, not much seems to be left for All-Pro defensive end Trey Hendrickson.

Hendrickson has been in search of a new deal for a while now after being selected to his fourth straight Pro Bowl and posting his second straight 17.5-sack season.

The 30-year-old's request has mostly been met with a shrug from Cincinnati's brass who had granted him permission to seek a trade once contract talks came to a standstill earlier this summer.

Hendrickson is set to earn $15.8 million in base salary this year along with a $200,000 roster bonus, but he's made it clear that he wants to be paid like one of the game's top pass rushers a la AFC North foes T.J. Watt and Myles Garrett.

Now though the Bengals have taken the next step towards Hendrickson potentially not being a member of Who Dey Nation this fall.

Cincinnati is listening to trades

Per NFL Media insider Ian Rapoport, the Bengals have decided to start answering the phones on interested teams' trade offers.

"With contract talks at an impasse, the Bengals are listening to trade offers for perennial Pro Bowler Trey Hendrickson, per me & [Tom Pelissero]," Ian shared Sunday.

Adding, "It's unclear if the NFL sack leader will be playing elsewhere in 2025, and a trade will be a real challenge. But time will tell."

Clearly things haven't progressed the way either side would've liked and its on the board that Hendrickson brings his elite sack production elsewhere this fall.

This year the Bengals have committed a combined $276 million to wide receivers Ja'Marr Chase and Tee Higgins alone.
