Texas Longhorns quarterback Arch Manning has yet to play a game this season, but is still helping his team when he can.

Manning has taken the time to meet with recruits like 2027 five-star edge rusher Zyron Forstall, per Rivals' John Garcia Jr. Forstall is considering Texas, the LSU Tigers, Texas A&M Aggies and Florida Gators.

He is a native of Bradenton, Florida, out of the prestigious IMG Academy. Forstall is originally from New Orleans, Louisiana, where Manning is also from, so the two naturally hit things off.

Manning played high school football for Isidore Newman and was the top prospect in the 2023 class.

“It was the culture,” he said. “Texas had their own little world in Austin, it was nice. Met a lot of great players, met Arch (Manning). He’s a New Orleans native, so it was great meeting him. Coach (LaAllan) Clark is a great D-line coach…he knows what he’s doing. Coach Sark (Steve Sarkisian) is a great coach, we had a great conversation, and he and my grandma hit it off. I loved it out there.”

Forstall is the No. 3 overall prospect, No. 2 edge rusher and top recruit from Florida in the Rivals Industry Rankings.

Texas is in pursuit of multiple top recruits, including four-star tight end Brock Williams. Williams is believed to be favoring the Georgia Bulldogs, but the Longhorns were named the biggest threat to the SEC program in the recruitment.

While Texas has a solid 2026 class at No. 5 overall on On3 Sports, the Longhorns are still trying to keep their commits from flipping. The Miami Hurricanes are making a push for Texas commit and four-star running back Derreck Cooper.

It definitely does not hurt when you have a Manning helping on the recruiting trail.
