Atlanta moving some pieces around.
Falcons cut a Pro Bowl WR and a QB before signing a different quarterback originally appeared on The Sporting News
The Atlanta Falcons have made some new roster moves heading into their final preseason game.
They include cutting a former Pro Bowler while making a swap of quarterbacks.
The Pro Bowl cut? DJ Chark, the wide receiver who was once a star for the Jacksonville Jaguars.
They also waived a quarterback, Emory Jones, under the waived/injury designation.
And the signing: Ben DiNucci, the former Cowboys quarterback.
DiNucci actually broke the news himself in a post on X that read:

I signed with the Falcons this morning.

The Falcons need DiNucci to play in their final preseason contest. Michael Penix Jr. and Kirk Cousins are both slated to sit out in order to stay healthy, and with Jones hurt, the QB depth is really thin.
The only other QB in the building besides those guys is Easton Stick, the former North Dakota State star who has seen a ton of time in the first two preseason games pretty much by default.
Nothing about these Monday moves from the Falcons is particularly shocking.
Chark has fallen off since his peak, and he had gone unsigned for much of the offseason before Atlanta brought him aboard to see what he might have left in the tank.
Apparently, Chark didn't have enough left for the Falcons to keep him around as a group of younger receivers make a case for roster spots.

And the QB movement is just par for the course this time of year as teams try to make it through the preseason with their main signal callers unscathed.
Come Week 1, it'll be Penix out there with the likes of Bijan Robinson, Drake London and Kyle Pitts. That's what Falcons fans will begin looking ahead toward right now.
