Fabrizio Romano gives player an 85% chance of completing move to Chelsea this window

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has given one player an 85% chance of completing a move to join Chelsea this window.

Chelsea have been involved in many transfer sagas over the years, and this summer has been no different in that sense.

They have been well and truly involved in another one this time around in the shape of Xavi Simons from RB Leipzig. This is a transfer that has been going hot and cold but mainly has just stalled in recent weeks and gone a bit quiet as Chelsea chase the need for player sales first.

We haven’t had many fresh updates on this one in the last few days but Fabrizio Romano did ensure that Chelsea are still in talks to sign Simons but as he’s said all along, the club need to make some sales first as well.

And then yesterday, Leipzig’s sporting director spoke out on the transfer and basically left the door open for Simons to join a new club this window if the financial conditions for the deal are met.

Simons to Chelsea is still on!

Although it’s gone quieter on this one and to be honest I’ve found that a bit of a relief because I was getting bored of the constant non-updates on it, Simons to Chelsea still very much looks on.

Romano spoke to DAZN this week and said:

“The percentage of Xavi Simons going to Chelsea remains 85%”.

Chelsea need sales

You’d expect that Chelsea still need sales to be able to go ahead and complete the signing of Simons this window.

So I’d imagine that remains the hold up and they need a Christopher Nkunku or a Nicolas Jackson sale to go through, for example.
